The Gospel Story in a Nutshell

Every one of us was created with a purpose — to know God and to have a relationship with Him. But there is something that separates us from Him. That something is sin.

We All Have Sinned

The Bible tells us plainly:

For all have sinned, and come short of
the glory of God
.”
Romans 3:23 (KJV)

Sin is anything we think, say, or do that goes against God’s holy and perfect standard. We don’t have to be “bad people” to be sinners — we are born with a sinful nature. And because God is holy, our sin must be judged.

The Consequence of Sin

The Bible tells us plainly:

“For the wages of sin is death…”
Romans 6:23 (KJV)

Wages are something we earn. Because of sin, what we have earned is separation from God — not just in this life, but forever.

God Loves You

But God did not leave us without hope. He made a way to restore us back to Himself.

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8 (KJV)

God loves you so much that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to take your place. Jesus lived a sinless life, and then willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for your sin.

Jesus Rose Again

Three days later, Jesus rose from the dead. He conquered sin, death, and the grave — proving He is truly the Son of God and the only Saviour.

“…Christ died for our sins… and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures.”
1 Corinthians 15:3–4 (KJV)

Salvation Is a Gift

You do not earn salvation by good works, religion, or trying harder. It is a free gift.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith…
not of works, lest any man should boast.”

Ephesians 2:8–9 (KJV)

Jesus already paid for your sin with His blood. What He asks is that you believe and receive Him personally as your Lord and Saviour.

How to Receive Christ

“…if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Romans 10:9 (KJV)

Salvation is turning from sin and turning to Christ — trusting Him alone.

A Simple Prayer of Faith

Praying does not save you — Christ saves you — but prayer is how you call upon Him:

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of

the Lord shall be saved.”
Romans 10:13 (KJV)

If your heart is ready, you may pray something like this:

Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I believe You died and rose again for me. I ask You to forgive me of my sin, come into my heart, and be my Lord and Saviour. I trust in You alone. Thank You for saving me. Amen.

New Life in Christ

When you place your faith in Jesus, you are forgiven, saved, and made a child of God — forever.

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is

a new creature…”
2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
